Pictorial "How-To's" for first time machine users
After watching and helping hundreds of people go through the arduous process of learning a new machine, it became obvious to me that a significant factor in frequent first-use failure was lack of confidence. Sure, classes can help to introduce a concept, but when it comes down to it and you are alone with the machine, the idea of potentially breaking the tool or hurting yourself can be overwhelming and can often lead to an even more dangerous situation.
I created these checklists as a way to empower new users during those first few (and hopefully many to come) encounters with several different rapid prototyping tools. The lists have proven to be indispensable–especially for those higher risk machines like the CNC waterjet and router–in abating poor setup and/or confidence failures.
