Laser Cut Cardboard, CAD
The classic cardboard chair. As it has been for design students since the beginning of time, this was an assignment in a Design Thinking course as part of my degree program. It remains a great exercise in rapid prototyping with low cost materials in an effort to produce a surprisingly sturdy and visually interesting structure.
I took the opportunity in this case to also experiment with new software (SolidThinking–a NURBS modeling program) combined with 123d Make to process and assemble the model.
